I have seen this car in person, it is across the street from where I take my daughter's GTI. The car is a mess and before the accident, a mish mash of parts from many years and styles. Very little is real and it is hard to see the original SC that the car was.
I am truly sorry you had an accident and glad you are OK but hopefully it knocked some sense into you: that car was a dog with fleas and putting that kind of money into it was just a waste. It so infuriated the Porsche gods they they totaled it for you, rather than see it on the road.
Harsh I know, but FFS buy a great car for half what you claim to have spent, your wife would have grounds for divorce; frankly $60k for a motor in a chopped Targa SC is grounds for the funny farm.

Mrbeverlyhills although everyone is entitled to their own option
You sir are a dick

I ended up purchasing the shell at the very end before it was chopped up to little bits by the body shop I donated it to, it allowed other cars to live.

Every owner has their own interpretation of what their taste is and how they choose to express it
At the time that this particular owner built his car, that was a fad going on.
Where you mix certain parts, I’ve seen it down countless times.

993 front end with 964 rear bumper
964 front end with 928 rear lights
...ect ect

If you had seen his receipts for the engine build like I did and we’re in the industry of building engines you’d understand a little more. Yes a better chassis (maybe a coupe) would have been a better choice but those were his options and choices.

Why don’t the Porsche gods wreck all those concours cars going to waste
Father Porsche himself said he didn’t like seeing low mile Porsche’s as they were meant to be driven not pampered in a garage. This is a actual fact (maybe not direct quote)
Should those car go to the pits of hell to ?

Singers ? RWB? Or the awful looking Gunther werks?
All mixed parts cars

Well, thank you for that, glad that I was able to make an impression. You got Dick from that, amazing.
I am not speaking to any of the other issues you raise and yes, anyone can do as he pleases with his money; goodness knows no one would compare that POS with a Singer.
I actually saw this car, my opinion as you say and if that makes me a dick, well old bean, you know what they say about Porsches and porcupines.
Have a good day.

Doesn't suprise me that you call yourself mrbeverlyhills. Your name says it all. You are exactly why the R Gruppe club was formed. A band of misfits that love building the car they want and not be criticized for it. I hope it makes you feel good to put another Porsche owner down. Sorry to see post like this.

His bedside manner sucks but at the end of the day his diagnosis was spot on.
Rgruppe wasnt really formed to get away from people having an opinion that was different than theirs.
What does Rgruppe even have to do with this? Name dropper!

The car was donated, the shop took the rear subframe off as that is why they needed it.

It's gone.

If you need parts I have pieces from other lots to fulfill an order
