915 Pinion bearings

Hi,

I removed the pinion shaft in the 915 out of my '83 SC and the roller bearing outer race that is supposed to be a press fit, on the pinion gear end of the shaft, will slide out of the case. The bearing pocket is smooth, not chewed up, but I know this is not right. Do I need a new differential housing or is there some other fix? If I need the housing, how much can I expect to pay?
