FS: 1965 Porsche 911 longblock

I'm new to Pelican, but have many posts over on 914world.com under the same user name, check me out if you have any doubts about me.

Up for sale is a 1965 911 engine. It is currently built with 2.7L pistons & cylinders and newer heads. However, the original 2.0 heads are included in the sale. The 2.0 heads appear to be fresh, but could use a good cleaning.

The engine should be considered a core as we don't have any history on it. It has been stored indoors and turns freely.

Engine currently resides at a Porsche shop in Wellsville, PA - use your own guy or hire them for the rebuild.

It has a 2.0 crank and the flywheel is correct for the engine.

There is damage to the oil cooler where a piece of tin got pushed into it (see pics).

Local pickup preferred. Willing to meet a "localish" buyer half way to make the sale. Will ship at buyers expense if you like.

$11,000.

Cylinder leakdown numbers are as follows:
1: 85/70
2: 85/0
3: 85/6
4: 85/35
5: 85/0
6: 85/83
*All cylinders with poor leakdown numbers are leaking badly through the exhaust valve.

Hi Bob, if it has 2.7 cilinders, does that mean the original spigeots have been opened up for a larger diameter?

The original heads, included in the sale and pictured separately are correct for a 2.0 build.

The heads installed on the longblock are 2.7 heads.

So the spigeots are still original diameter? That would be great

That is correct. The spigeots on the separate heads are still original diameter.

Spigot size

The 2.0-2.4 motors all had spigot diameters of 92mm. The 2.7 motors have a spigot diameter of 97mm. I don't see how it would be possible to fit 2.7 cylinders in a 2.0 case without boring the spigots. That would leave a 1mm cylinder wall on the 90mm 2.7 cylinders.

Thank you for this post Tom.

I mistakengly assumed that spigot referred to the opening in the cylinder head to accommodate the cylinder. I now understand that this is the case opening.

Therefore, no the spigots are not stock. They have been opened up for the 2.7 cylinders. They would need to be sleeved to return to stock cylinder size.

My apologies for any confusion on this.
