FS:86 Carrera 3.2 motor and 915
***SOLD***
Hi all, I bought a 77 911S that already had a 3.2 swap in it. I was told by the previous owner that it had less than 100k and it appeared to have been serviced and very well maintained. The motor ran strong when it was pulled from the car and the gearbox shifted fine, without issue. It currently has a Clewett distributor-less ignition and electromotive management system installed, nice setup that ran so smooth. No oil leaks when the motor was in my car. Motor and gearbox have been gone through and functioned well when in my car, but to what extent I do not know. I can see replaced valve cover hardware and the 915 case has been refinished and sealed. These indicators would suggest at least valve adjustment and a possible rebuild or major service on the 915. Since the previous owner wasn’t a Porsche guru, he had the swap and service done by a former Porsche tech. The previous owner didn’t know Porsche’s and I wasn’t buying the car for this setup, which is why it’s available. I don’t have leak down numbers or compression test results. I tried to date the 915 gearbox... still working on it. 3.2 came out of an 86, I believe. Pics of serial numbers will be posted below. $15k for the motor and gearbox. 915 gearbox
...and forgot to mention that it comes in the engine tin, this should be something could be easily plugged into another car should the next buyer desire to simply plug it into the next car.

Was a leak-down or compression test done? If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling it?

Unfortunately, I can’t get under the gearbox at this point to validate that it’s from an 86.

Sorry, no leak down numbers, it is what it is. I’m using a completely different setup for my project, which is basically a race car at this point.

Fantastic deal! Thanks for responding to my PM. A little more than I want to spend at the moment, but someone is going to appreciate this deal.
