Early 1969-73 911's Cigarette Lighter NOS NIB
SOLD
1969-73 (maybe 74-75??) Porsche 911T/E/S Cigarette Lighter NOS NIB (new in box) and NLA at Porsche dealer as next to impossible find extremely rare find brand new cigarette lighter as a must for any of your show room events restored gem 911's interior outlook! P/N # 911.652.122.00 in Porsche dealer as read below: Discontinued Product No Longer Available For Purchase Simply brand new as seen in all pics is what you are getting one of kind cig lighter. Do your homework if you can find one out there?? Tried to source for a price but not able to for it is NLA in Porsche record so I am gonna price it 300 for a one of kind cig lighter (probably one of kind if ever in existence) for your early 69-73. Maybe the price is a bit steep but who knows someone out there might need it as a final touch up for their gem 911's ![]() Thank you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I don't know. A '69 lighter has a white cigarette with red flame/smoke.

That is a '70-'73 part number (later superseded), but '70-'73 lighters have white cigarette with white smoke, like in Sharams' photo. I am pretty sure the OP's lighter is quite a bit later. Most of these later lighters are still available from Porsche.

Again, I re-checked the superseded P/N # of what you (raspritz) just mentioned and it shows is still NLA at Porsche so the later lighters are not available from Porsche. Like you said "Most of these later lighters are still available from Porsche" while in reality both P/N#'s are NLA from Porsche ?
One more thing, I googled to find plenty of images/photos of 69-73 911 interior dash shows the same cig lighter as to what I have here with an exception of some photos showing early 73 911's have a cig knob with white smoke image. So maybe this is for 74-75 911 after all? The SC and later Carrera's cig lighter knobs are white smoke logo thou. It shows the superseded number as read: Cigarette Lighter Emblem Insert Part #: 911-652-122-02-OEM View in Catalog: Cigarette Lighters No Longer Available |

You will find some cars have the plain black switches while others have the pictograms and rubber safety covers.

Your lighter is the later version, but it doesn't have the rubber cap or overlay which could have any logo on it since they are the same size.

Not sure what year(s) this is correct for but I will add that my French delivered 73’ 911 does not have the rubber bumpers or pictograph overlays on any of the dash knobs. My lighter looks exactly like the one Rad is selling.

It was a DOT requirement for US cars.

As for clearance note as seen in pics above thread: The sticker label on the package showing 12.07.87 indicated at that time when it was ordered from Porsche dealer (does that mean it was mfg'd date around in 1980's era? as a factory direct replacement like l.a.brooks mentioned "It was a DOT requirement for US cars??)
What I am trying is to pin-point on how this cig lighter ended up in this design hard black knob as in between earlier versions rounded rubber knobs and later versions sharper corners round rubber knobs with inserts white smoke images. Hence, the main reason is I do not see anywhere for this particular full black knob cig type popping up these days except for this NOS right here as seen in my FS thread. If you can find one out there by googling images and then by all means, it would be a great knowledge for there is another one in existence except for some of them that are already in one of their gem 911's dash. |

Nick - wonder if this is European version or replaced at one time in the mid 80's ? Hard to tell over those years as original OEM. Thanks for posting pics which makes more sense as narrowing down to true desc. of what I have one on hand as probably rarest NEW cig lighter that disappeared in production years ago.

Rad- Hard to tell, except that my car is very good example of a European delivered car (even better now with some excellent restored rear lenses
) so I thought the photo would be helpful as my lighter looks just like the one you are selling. If mine wasn't as good as it is I'd buy yours in a second.Nick

Nick has the same as I have. My 1970 was a euro version shipped over by the Army back in 1985.
