SOLD- '87 3.2 Carrera Motor with 9K miles
Hello Everyone,
I recently bought a '95 3.6 motor for my '71 914-6, so.... SOLD – 1987 3.2 Carrera motor with Motronic injection. 9K miles on a full rebuild by Bruce Abbott (flat6pac) on this site to stock specs. Bruce has been building Porsche engines for over 3+ decades and is well known and respected. I have the receipts and photos of the actual build process. The only changes from stock specifications are the 964 cams and a Steve Wong custom chip. This engine has run great since the day it was first started in 2020. First oil/filter at 100 miles, oil/filter and valve adjustment at 1K miles, Oil/filter at 3,500 miles then again at 6,500. Last oil/filter changed with valve adjustment at approx. 8,500 miles. I have always run Driven HR1 15W50 conventional oil. This motor was properly broken in and has had an easy life in my car which is not tracked, raced or driven hard. Car has a front oil cooler and engine has always run cool. I plan to remove this engine toward the end of the year. If you want to come hear it run, please feel free to reach out to me. I am posting just some engine pictures here. Interested parties can contact me for copies of receipts and build pictures. I am asking $30K. Thanks for looking, Michael ![]() ![]()

Oh, here is my car just so you know the way I do stuff. Bruce Abbott built the motor to the same standard as my car.

I guess I should have asked, what kind of HP you think you are getting now on this 3.2L?

ibpa18 - We believe the cams, chip, exhaust, we are at approx. 240 HP. And, no, the 3.6 is not in yet. Still have the 3.2 in the car in the event a potential buyer wants to come see and hear it run. Plan to pull it out towards the end of October.
Cheers, Michael

Rock solid, no excuse engine from a Porsche enthusiast that I’ve known for years. Someone will buy this and get a great running motor.

I have a cold start video after sitting for almost 1 month; started right up as expected. I just have to figure out how to post it.

I Would expect that if you are replacing it with a 3.6, you will also install a 3.6 EFI system. Just to be sure, does the engine include the full 3.2 Motronic, wiring harness, boxes, etc.?

Yes- the 3.2 goes complete with everything except the heat exchangers/muffler and engine tins unique to a 914-6. The Motronic injection, DME, engine harness, coil, airbox go with the engine. The only stuff that won't go is the stuff I will need to install the 3.6, which is a complete motor.
