FS: Twin Plug 3.2 SS rebuilt by Franz Blam
Hello, I have a fresh rebuilt twin plug 3.2 Short Stroke for sale. The engine was a '79 Euro 3.0 that I sent to Blam along with another engine and a few gear boxes. I'm currently building a hot rod and planned to start on a second car but I probably won't have the time or funds two builds. So i'm selling this engine to help fund the completion of the car already in progress. I'll post another FS add for a '77 chassis as well.
Anyway, no expense was spared , i'll share some of the details now and I'll reach out to Blam for any specifics I may have missed. I wanted something for spirited back road driving that would still run on pump gas. Franz said this will run fine on pump gas but still said to put some octane booster in each tank. Euro 3.0 drilled for twin plug and bumped up to a 3.2 Short Stroke Carrillo Rods JE Pistons 930 oil pump ported heads 10.5:1 compression RSR cam profile oil fed chain tensioners Weber 46IDA Clewett Engineering Electromotive Crankfire Turbo lower valve covers Raw Fiberglass shroud and air filter covers. SSI's Franz says its goof for 325-350HP and 235 ft.lb Torque Since completion it's only been run on a stand for initial adjustments and break in. Never been in a car. I'm planning to list it on bring a trailer but will offer it here at It's currently in a crate at the shop that's doing my current Car build, Werks11, in Texas. UPDATE: I have pulled the listing for now. I made a mistake in the listing, all the specs are accurate but I posted the incorrect pics. I thought my 3.4 had the PMO's on it, but it has the webers. so the pics I posted were of the 3.4. I'll be putting the webers on the the 3.2 engine and posting new pics. |

What kind of hp and tq do you think it’s putting out. Thanks
|
Franz told me between 300hp and 325hp. I don't recall torque figures but a 3.2 SS will really sing in the upper rpm's.
|
You'd have to port the heads to get that kind of HP. Were the heads ported? Are the SSI's the new larger size ones?

The SSI's were his from another build. We needed something to run the engine on the stand and he had them on the shelf. He said they change them every year but didn't know when they were from. |
After I spoke to Franz today he said he will check his notes on Monday regarding Torque figures. He confirmed 300-325HP figure.

Updating description to include the following:
SSI's RSR Cam profile 930 Oil Pump Ported Heads |
I would think a SSI system on such an engine would be a bottleneck.
would probably benefit from some free-flowing RSR headers and backbox: ) beautiful engine |
Not sure, I'll ask Franz on Monday. These ssi's were only added so Franz could run the engine on the stand.

This engine is plug and play!
Werks11 in Troy TX is hosting a swap meet this Sat 12/2. The engine will be available for viewing then. Spoke to Franz again today, he has been dealing with some medical procedures and has not been able to get back to his shop to gather additional details/torque figures. He thinks he should be able to get this to me by Tuesday. I also have a couple other header options should the buyer prefer non-SSI's. I have a sweet pair of wrapped racing headers. I'll try to find a pic of those |
Just spoke to Franz and he confirmed the Torque figure at 235 ft.lb

Treat yourself this Holiday Season. Make |
bump for a sweet engine!

PMed you

Seems like a fair deal considering cost of 3.2 and then finding a top line builder and all the parts. Good luck I wish I was in the market I like this build.
|
Bump for a beautiful engine. I would sell those beautiful Webers, go with ITB's, coil on plug, and full sequential EFI running E85. Yeeha!
