IROC or RSR or RSR - which would you buy?

I have an original ORANGE 1977 911S I am going to make the next replica out of ... Just trying to get a little feedback before I break out the plasma cutter : ANY preferences from you people ? I can backdate to a longhood RS or RSR replica , or build an an appropriate '74 IROC car with ducktail and shorthood . Your opinions are appreciated! Consider this an interactive restoration / conversion based on your feedback - car construction will be able to be followed at unclezaks.com/forum THANKS! - Zak 541-543-4344

I would like to see you build a 1973 Turbo (2.1 liter ?)replica with one of those really long tails. I dont think anyone has ever done it yet. That would be special.

The idea is the car would be for me .... But in reality it would be for sale if there is interest in it. I have a new idea .... I am going to make this really an interactive project - All of you ( If I get anyone interested ) will vote towards how the car is completed. I will give deadlines when to vote , then proceed down the winning option , taking pictures and keeping track as I go . I want to hear your ideas! - thanks - Zak

Zak- sounds like a TV reality show. Are you going to marry a midget at the end as well? :)

sounds fun

OOOhhh ...... Sounds good!

If I had a '77, I would build something short hood. There are some really neat bumpers for that car and some pretty bad ones. Just smoothing up the car by removing the bellows and flaring the rear fenders will really turn heads in my book. Some 7's and 8's would finish it off nicely. You could take it all the way to an IROC if you want, but those seem a little extreme to me. As far as RS is concerned, as fabulous as the real deal is, it's been copied so many times. Be different.

IROC or a Yellowbird clone

I think a 3.0 RS would be nice.

Hi Zak,

How about a 993 3.8L RS?;) Seriously I vote for a 3.0L RS. Those real cars are very cool (and rare) and you don't have to cut up an Early car to make one.

unclezak 02-23-2004 06:42 PM

Thanks ... I am leaning towards 3.0RS myself . Zak

IROC w/ Duck or 3.0RS

Matt-Man 02-26-2004 11:43 AM

Zak, 3.0 RS.

Do you have a left stock flare for a '73 maybe you cut off?

Thanks, matt

Zak, have you forgotten about me? I returned a fuel pump to you on January 19th and you agreed to send me the correct one for my MFI 73. I have sent you 2 PMs and you have not responded to either one. The UPS tracking number is 1Z33605W0340263014 and it shows you signed for the carton on 1/23/04. Is my pump on the way?

I'm with Milt, be different. Smooth out the bumpers, maybe a Ruf style kit, and flares, make it unique. Unique and fast.
