If you can get someone to weld a short piece of 2 x .125" tubing into one of the arms shown, you can have a set of what is in the back, a new set of SwayAway adjustable spring plates that fit earlier cars. Not sure exactly what years, but I think from '69 on.

What you get is everything shown in the pic EXCEPT the new parts which are shown for comparison. There is one complete side (drivers) and one incomplete side. One, or both of the original plates will have to be modified with the tubing and a block with a set screw. New outer bushings are included and the inner ones are used poly.

The spline plates are used and in good solid straight condtition, not excellent. I will sell it all for $100 plus actual shipping. Paypal only.

I probably have to keep the alignment nuts and bolts; use your original off your car. They are the same. SwayAway doesn't include the nuts and bolts when you buy new.SOLD

So what you're doing is taking a 2nd set of spring plates, cutting them down and making the lip for the adjuster, and someone just has to come along and weld on a piece of 2" tubing to make it complete, right? I'm just not seeing how the oversized bushings fit into the pic.

Clever, though. I wonder how much effort it would be to make the leap to 935-style plates...

Thom, it is not as complicated as you make it out. You just slip a piece on 2'' tubing thru the hole in the existing plate where the factory sze one sits. That allows the spline plate to slide into the new tube. I was amazed to find that the whole thing is standard 2" x .125" tubing.


I would do this in a heartbeat, but then I wouldn't sell them :D (I don't have the welding down that good.)

I didn't think about the upgrade to 935 or adaptability to Turbo parts. I don't know the differences, but this is the opportunity to get something unique going.

Sorry. Mechanical engineering can be tough for some folks. It's even tougher to write instructions. You know that because you've opened merchandise that came with impossible directions.

Sounds like Ben is going to end up with it anyway. He is a welder and could make these for pennies and turn around and resell for double + the money. These are SwayAway parts.

Yes thoms post did explain it. I was wondering what it was that was for sale. Sounds like a cool idea.
