FS: Steve Wong 3.2L Motronic Chip
EDIT: CHIP HAS BEEN SOLD!!!
As the topic indicates, putting up for sale my Steve Wong (911Chips.com) computer chip for 1988-1989 Carrera 3.2L motors using 28 pin e-proms. Will also fit many 1987 models but buyer must confirm compatibility before purchasing. This particular chip is programmed for a Euro/Dansk/Fabspeed pre-muffler and/or a sport rear muffler. This chip was installed in February 2004. This chip, in conjunction with a Dansk pre-muffler and Dansk rear muffler, made 199 rwhp on a Dynojet 248C in early September before the motor was removed for a performance rebuild. Unfortunately, this particular chip is not suitable for the 3.5L twin-plug motor that I have recently built based on the 3.2L. I now have a customized Steve Wong chip for this beast. ![]() Yours for $250.00 USD shipped in the lower 48 states. Paypal accepted and preferred. Chip includes Steve Wong's installation instructions. If local, I will be glad to help with the installation. ![]() If you're considering a computer chip for your 3.2L Carrera, the Steve Wong chip is the best one to have. Search on Pelican for many happy and satisfied customers, including myself! Ralph Last edited by Carrera3.5L; 01-15-2005 at 06:47 AM.. |

I thought these chips could be reburned? How old is it? I am interested, but my car is in pieces at the paint shop. Would you happen to know how I can tell which DME I have on my 87 by the VIN? If not, pass me Steve's number, and I'll give him a call and ask.
Thanks. Jason

The chip was installed in February '04 and is the "updated" chip over his original offering for exhaust mods. It ran the car until the motor came out for the performance rebuild in September. Has been sitting in its protective case since then. The VIN wouldn't help ME, but if you could give me the DME part number on the outside of the housing, I could tell you if it would work or not. If you can't read the number on the DME under the seat, (4) 10mm nuts is all that holds it in place and you can lift it off the studs and slide it out to read. Steve's number is (323) 953-0722. Perhaps he knows based on the VIN? Ralph |

They changed from 24-pin to 28-pin during the middle of production of the '87 models, I think during July? The only way to be sure on an '87 is to pull the DEM and open it - not a big deal at all, about a 15 minute job.
