Way to go, Martin. I was hoping I'd got them, but you were there first. I got a bit peeved with "Schneb" when he emailed later, wanting me to top a $1050 offer. It's not that I wouldn't pay that much, it's more that I didn't want to start a bidding war and set a bad precedent on the board. It's confusing enough to figure out best etiquette for buying and selling here, without adding a moving target to the mix.
I told him I was good for the 1k plus shipping, as he'd asked, and if he wanted to auction the carbs, there's a place called Ebay.

Got them in today. They are truly like new! No cracks just some excess metal. They're perfect.
Thanks a lot Brandon. Martijn |

Since the poster of this ad sold his and people are still interested, I have several sets for sale. I am not trying hijacking this thread.
Set 1: No shaft wear. One will need jets, venturis, etc. as I used these to set up the carbs on my other engines. Bodies are fine. They are a bit grimey but clean up well with carb cleaner. They actually look stunning as the grime "preserved" the oe cadmium finish on the hardware. No linkages included. I have intakes. $1100.00 firm/ no trades Set 2: Very good 40 IDAs with tall intakes. Came off a 3L that was re-converted to CIS for everyday use. I was planning to use these on a hot-rod 3L, but I plan on going with a custom MFI set up on a stroked 3.2L $1500.00 firm/ no trades Somehow I ended up with 3 extra sets of these carbs. Shipping add'l from CT 06443. MN |
