If you find a good dealer. I tried my local dealer when I bought new 9x16 Fuchs but they told me the fuchs were NLA. My local dealer sucks so I wasn't surprised. I bought a new pair for $1350 from Wheel Enhancements a few months before the price increase.

That is very close to the list price. There are dozens of Porsche dealerships across the country who heavily discount from list.

I got the $757 price very easily by contacting a dealership on the West Coast who is a well-known discounter of parts. If anyone would like the name of this dealer, feel free to pm me.

These wheels, like Jason's, are brand new in the box from Porsche NA, part number 911.362.119.00. The price is $757.31 per wheel which works out to $1,514.62 for a pair.

The wheels are available at this price directly from many Porsche dealers. If, however, someone feels more comfortable purchasing from a fellow Pelicanite, I will sell them to you for $1,650 per pair.
Umm, just what exactly is the purpose of your post? To slam someone? To prove you can search a parts database? Big deal. I for one, do not find any value in what you have posted.....move along now.

Ok, for part 2 of your assignment, try to actually place an order and see what they tell ya!

The point? Here's the point.

Many on this board take great pleasure in deriding ebay sellers who advertise "rare," "nos" parts that are readily available directly from the dealer. Everyone also gleefully mocks the buyers of these same parts when they pay more than they would have if they had just walked into a parts supply store or ordered from Pelican. The recent auction of a none-so-special shift knob comes to mind.

Criticizing smdubovsky in Jason's Cullen's original post for raising this same issue seems to me to be a bit hypocritical. No offense to anyone here, but I would appreciate knowing where I could find the exact same wheels for less. I'll then make a decision from whom to buy the parts. But I fail to see where sharing knowledge is a bad thing.

From everything I know Jason is a stand up guy. But I consider him a merchant at least when it comes to selling wheels. Out of respect for Wayne and this BBS, we don't openly undercut PelicanParts. I'm not sure any other merchant doing business on this BBS deserves the same respect though.

Brad,

These Fuchs wheels are not unobtainable or even rare. In fact, according to Sunset Porsche, up until a few days ago when someone bought up all of the stock in the U.S., they were available from every dealer in the U.S.

Not to worry though, there is another shipment already on the boat from Germany and due in the U.S. in about three weeks.

Chris - the only red flag in your post was, in my opinion, mentioning the recent seller of the 16x9s by name. I wouldn't have done that. Otherwise, you're correct to shop around.

Hello Chris,

Nice 930, simply excellent. Very impressed.

I think that is great the energy you have devoted to your thread.

Not my shift knob nor sell the rare stuff nor do I inflate or deflate availability of what I sell. Actually not sure where you want to take this or how I have affected you.

I sell the best quality interior / wheels that I can provide. This is what I do. Such as Pelican, the best of new parts is what they do. Simply an honor to have the worlds greatest 911 BBS.

I offered wheels at a good deal for what I saw available in the market which is not alot. I never mentioned rare or hard to get or none available. I placed them here, ready to go for the pelican people who need 9s. I never checked dealer prices, which are currently out. The last boat of wheels apparently took 2 years, from speaking with parts dealers in the industry.

I'm just a wheel/interior guy doing my best providing a finished product to the 911 owner.

Thank you,
Jason

Actually - I went to LA Superior Court to fight a speeding ticket that I got on the Pelican Hangover Rally in my 930 on the 1st of January.

Bad news, I lost. Good news, the Judge granted me traffic school.

So its a great day today!

Thank you,
Jason
