oil line shipping?

Probably not the forum for this, but some of you wizards know how to do this stuff. I want to send a hard oil line across the country. I thought I could use Greyhound, but now they say it must be boxed! Same with FedEx. Don't want the shipping to make it not worth the effort - any suggestions? Thanks/van

Put it in a box and try again?

Or wrap it in celophane and stick a label on it.

My 2 sense

I'd box it, I worked as a shipper of computer peripherals while I was in high school, you would be suprised what can happen to stuff even when it's well packed!

If you have a bicycle shop close, go get 2 box's that a bike was shipped in. They are narrow and thick and you can combine two to get the right length

I'd zip tie it to a 2x2, or another suitable "spine".
You can bet it will be bent in half upon arrival otherwise.

real550A, that's a great idea, I agree, make an exo-skeleton for it, and brace it.

Ive shipped three of these without problems. The bycycle shipping box worked well but I inserted a 1 x 6 shorten fence board (about a dollar and sometime find one thats damaged for a better deal) and zip tie and then bubble wrap the line. DHL ground is cheap 1 800 call DHL. If you set up an account they will give better shipping rates too. No connection. Also, insure them for peace of mind. Good luck. Mark
