Larry:
Pictures on eBay are not that clear.
Is there a crossshaft and release fork?
What is the actual number on the 915?
What year is it from?
Can you post an itemized rebuild-sheet showing what parts were replaced?
Who did the rebuild?
What type LSD?
Thanks.

You will have to bear with me a little bit here. I actually dont know what a cross shaft is.

The number from the bell housing is 915 301 101 7R.

As to the year ... I only know that it is the post 1977 box that has the electric speedometer. I have no idea of which year it is specifically from. It was a spare for my friends race car.

I will contact him to see if I can get a build sheet. I guess when I bought it from him (We have been friends for about 10 years) All I had to hear was rebuilt 915 with a LSD for 2500 and I just said sweet I will take it. I cant say with 100% certainty but I seem to remember him saying the limited slip is a quaiffe.

Sounds good.
The cross shaft is the shaft that holds the release fork in the bell housing.
A picture of the inside of the bell housing would show what's there.

The number on the bottom of a 915 with LSD is something like this:
915/63/12 - 74C/2841
This number indicates the type/year and the 12 means it has a factory LSD.
The number is next to the drain plug.
What number is stamped on yours?
Thanks.

My friend got back to me he is looking for the build sheet but is doubtful that he will be able to find it. He said the lsd is not a quaife ... he said it is a zf with 75% lock. He also said that the rebuild is a stock specification rebuild with no gear changes.

Just wondering if you still have this and if it is rebuilt?

Matt, it came from a car with 76k miles so I doubt it's been gone through but it's no problem for me to have a local shop go through it.
E-mail me at group911@aol.com if you are interested.
Thanks
