I have a brand new 180 MPH speedometer. The following Porsche number is on the dial face 911 641 506 29.

On another area of the dial are the following numbers 0012

On the body of the speedometer are the numbers 26/35/01 2.74 T wo.77 Made in Germany

I am sure that you would but that is pretty much full Porsche Retail, that one could be a hard sell, my friend. I will check with a couple of people that I know though and see if they have any interest in it.

Thanks Hawk,, I "'believe"" the redeeming value is the stamped date code of 2.74

After numerous searches and reviewing VDO's date stamping method, it """appears""" that this speedo was made during February of 1974. I can't guarantee the date and if anyone has better knowledge, please let me know.

If the speedo is determined to be a currently produced speedo, then I'll adjust the price accordingly. Regardless, if the price is close to a brand new Speedo from Porsche, it's still less money as no tax is involved.

Good news. I called No. Hollywood Speedo today regarding repairs to my 1973's clock. While speaking to them, I confirmed that the stamped '2.74' in the body of the speedo is the production date which equals February 1974

That is correct. You have a fairly unique speedo there and unless you are terribly in need of the funds I wouldn't dump it for any less than what you are asking for it now. If you can get it in front of more European buyers, I imagine you could sell it pretty quickly...

Thanks for the information.

You're correct, I just have to find the right buyer that "needs" a brand new OEM, NOS, Feb. 1974 date coded 180 MPH mechanical speedometer.

My price of $455.00 shipped to any US city is as low as I'll go. If it doesn't sell now, it will sell later and probably at a higher price (of course inflation will probably eat that up)
