rust free hood near Indianapolis,cheap with strings
Long story, I'll try to make it short. I bought a "rust free,no dents" long hood on e-bay. It did look good in the e-bay photos. Seller is in Frankfort Indiana. I bought the hood for the badge as I already have a hood. Heres the deal, If interested you pickup the hood in Frankfort send me the badge and keep the hood for $85. Thought I'd give this a shot before spending $150+ on shipping to Ca.

Skip what would of been so special about the badge that it would be worth that hassle was it an orange bar?
I would think that would be a quick profitable sale in so cal for a decent long hood.

Probably will end up shipping via greyhound. Problem is closest greyhound station is in Indianapolis and the hood is in Frankfort about 70 miles away. Seller is an internet business and wont deliver to the greyhound station (they quoted $644 door to door via trucking co). I found a delivery/courier service that will pick up the hood at the sellers business and deliver to the greyhound station so that is most likely the route I will end up taking. As far as the badge, it appeared to be in great shape. Im hoping it is original but might be an early reproduction. I figured that I could sell the hood for the shipping cost and the badge would end up being free so it would be ok if it was a reproduction and really cool if it was original. So thats the story

Have you considered telling the guy to just mail you the badge and he can resell the hood?

Thanks for the suggestion but that was the the first thing I asked them after I "won" the e-bay auction. They said that they dont/cant do that. You have to remember Im not dealing with a fellow porsche enthusiast but a business that sells all sorts of stuff on e-bay including some car parts.
