FS High Performance Engine

1980 3.0 euro complete with heat exchangers, ignition and clutch. $3500.OBO.

Motor has been sitting on an engine stand wrapped-up in my garage for over two years. I bought the motor/car from my uncle about two years after his son wrecked it with intentions of putting together a 86 or earlier project.
I unfortunately do not have any documentation on internal component on the motor. All I can tell you is that it is over 400 HP,Fast and that Tom (uncle, lawyer eastern AZ) spent over 9k on total Reconditioning around six years ago. When I removed it from the donor 911 Tom told me it had around 27k on it. If I had the paper work I would be asking much more. You will not be disappointed. buyer pays for shipping. I will palletize and wrap water tight for shipping @ no cost. Thanks

not to spoil your post, however, it is impossibel to get 400hp out of a 3.0L w/ single plug & CIS... just wanted to let you know and toe possible unknowing newbie... sorry...

galospole 09-26-2009 02:24 PM

he might have be stretching the hp a little, but thats what i was told. never the less its very fast and a good motor. buy the way i drive a true porsche, 56 oval rag. It has just under 400hp has less than 2000cc , single plugs, dual 44s and a modified ignition so nothing is imposable. thanks for your concern.

Can you please educate me on how you were able to achieve 400hp with a 2000 cc motor… I have a 3.2 with approx 245 hp so if what you are saying is possible – I must have built a dog.:(

Bump for a good deal at this price.

Looking at the way the red fan/fan housing has been painted, maybe this is a Motormeister engine. I read about their exagerated HP ratings.

It is some what common for VW engines to achive high HP..
BTW, this is what a true 300HP 3.0 looks like (tuned on a dyno, and no, not for sale)

Yes i understand that i'm a newby to this site. I've always wanted a 911 and thats why i begged my uncle for two years to sell me what was left of his car. He only sold it to me because he bought a brand new one. I've had a porsche rail and a 928 but never a 911. I have anough money in my 56 that i could have bought a nice older 911. I didn't plan on going over board on it for 2 years but i did. I also understand about scammers and people selling stolden idems on the net. One MUST be careful! I'm moving to a bigger property and thinking is if i sell my 911 stuff i could use that money tord a 60" x 40" steal shop. The motor is what i said it is and i hate to sell it. thanks
