The unbreakable RS door pull

No more broken plastic door pull for me.
It is my 4th set in 2 1/2 years.

I would like to know if you interested in this door pull.
The prototype duplicated from the original black plastic door pull.
Milled from solid aluminum with brass pivot.

The shop has to polish the surface to get rid of all scrape marks.
I really don't like the shinny look, so I went over it with old Scotchbrite.

If I have more than 10 responds then I will have them made.
The shop needs 3-4 weeks to complete 40 to 50.
I'll put it in buy it now ebay for $35.00 each.
$10.00 air freight for a pair from Bangkok to anywhere.

I also looking into anodized option but don't want to increase the cost.
I'll let you know when I can find out the anodized cost.
Thanks
Burint

Those look cool and very close to original.

Have you seen these from Wevo? They are a bit different, but same concept.

Hi guys,
People over at 911s registry has suggested the black finish would be nice.
I am checking into the option of black anodized and powder coating.
The anodized will cost around $10.00 more a piece.
The powder coating might be the way to go to bring the cost down.
I will keep you posted
Burint

I have broken a few of the plastic originals myself. I heard that they were actually a fiat part that Porsche used for that one particular RS application. Its the quick open and close on the highway (which I shouldn't be doing) that broke mine.

Your reproductions look nice and i would certainly buy a pair from you. I prefer non anodized as I can do that myself.

Dear all,
For those who want in "white" coat it your self and for those who want in black.
It should not be a problem, I'll have both on separate ebay listing.

I'll make another prototype in white (non polishing) and in satin black powder coat.
I will post the pix to get your comment.
Please give me some time to make sure we all be happy about it.
Thanks
Burint

Bob at APPBIZ here
Hi Burint
We were actually considering the same progect. No sense in both of us making these. Please contact me about a quantity purchase. We can do the anodizing so raw aluminum is fine.

Additionally might be a better idea to use and aluminum pivot pin if you are planning to annodize. Also we have found that a light bead blast prior to annodizing provides a more uniform color. We learned this the hard way with our Billet RSA bezels.

Please post a link on ebay when they are available. Or let us know if we can just buy them from you without going through ebay.
Thanks,
John

HI,
I would be interested, but my car does not have these car pulls. It is a 70' 911E Targa. I am converting to a RSR clone, so maybe this is something that I should add? Looking for input on this as much as expressing interest. If it makes sense to add, where would they be mounted? I can think of a couple of places where I would put them.
Thanks,
Tim

Hello Tim,
Have you converted your door panels to this light weight style?
You can get them from Pelican. In the middle is where the door pull mounted.
