Ian, got the chip today and installed it. Nice improvement in idle from cold start, throttle response, mid range power and better AFR on WOT. Used my LM-1 and recorded 15 min. of some different runs. AFR @ idle and cruise runs @ 14.7 AFR at 40 mph or 90 mph... like the stock chip, aggressive throttle it reads 13.2 and stomping on it I got 12.8 AFR; no red line pulls yet. My car was running very well with the stock chip, this chip seems to be more uniform in power delivery. Nice improvement!!! Next step is to fill her up w/ 91 fuel, I have 89 fuel in the tank right now.
Thanks,

Hi Bob,

Glad you like it; I found it to be quite an improvement on my car as well. Throttle response was much crisper all across the board, and initial tip-in was considerably improved as well, which really helped driveability.

I don't think using 91 instead of 89 is going to do you any good however; you would need knock-sensing capability to take advantage of the higher octane, and the 3.2's DME does not have that. If your car doesn't ping on 89, then I would stick with it. There is one additional DME fuel-quality setting which is located under the driver's seat. For the life of me I can't remember exactly what it is now; whether it's a dial on the DME, or a jumper or what, but do a search here on it and you should find some info. Make sure you're set to use the best fuel quality as that will make a significant difference according to some people. I checked mine and it was as it should be, but you'll want to take a look I think...

The DME test plan showed up 2 days ago and I've finally had a chance to flip through it. I guess I have no excuse not to get the oscilloscope uncovered and hooked up.
No more edgumacated guesses...

Thanks Ian!

Hey Wayne,

Yeah, I seriously considered getting a cheap scope after reading through that plan. I posted about it here at one time, but never really got off my dead ass and did anything about it. Good luck sorting out your roughness issue!
