Track Car/Parts Bonanza
Trying this again. I listed this a year or so ago, started working out a interesting trade deal, but the guy disappeared. I've added to my VW collection, so I need to clear some space. I don't have the time, money, or inclination to play on the track any more.
The car is a 1977 911, originally a Targa, which I converted and drove as a cab for a few years, and ultimately developed a hard top using this car as one of the test mule. It's in great mechanical shape, but it has cosmetic 'issues'. If you go back through some of my posts on the 911 technical and racing forums you can see the build-up. Basically it is a street-legal track car. My best time @ Thunderhill was a 2:02. Top speed approx 163 (GPS verified) It's fun to drive, but you really have to pay attention to what you're doing! This car is very light - the last time I weighed it, it was just over 1900lbs, wet. $17k, best offer. Engine * 3.6L CARB-legal engine conversion using 1991 C2 engine * Raceware head studs and rod bolts * Seine heat-sheets * Setrab front cooler with some innovative ducting * Carrera cooler with thermo switch and fan * all flexible oil lines are -16 braided steel * -16 nipple welded to oil tank and engine oil line * ER finned oil lines * PC-680 lightweight battery (new 2011-12-09) * fresh spark plugs * rebuilt and flow-matched fuel injectors * new O2 sensor * single fan belt conversion * powerhaus finned upper valve covers * B&B 1.75" 2in/2out exhaust * PM single-pulley conversion * factory A/C delete bracket * bolt-on catalytic converters for smog-day Transmission * pump and cooler * HD side plate * HD billet intermediate bearing carrier * Kennedy Stage II clutch * factory short shift * Seine gate shift * club sport engine & trans mounts Interior * full cage * Simpson window net * Kirkey deluxe driver's seat * Recaro SRD passenger seat * Sparco harnesses * BK camera mount * halon extinguisher * removable 930S steering wheel * 935-style felt dash * HOT-LAP timer * almost all unnecessary interior items removed Suspension * ER bump-steer links * spindles raised 19mm * custom-valved Bilsteins: 235/120 front 380/145 rear * 33mm hollow rear Sanders t-bars * 28mm front t-bars * ER A-arm centering kit * TRG sway bars * rear spring plates modified to allow up to 4 degrees negative camber * ER poly-bronze spring plate bushings * ER offset ball joints * ER trailing arm bushings * ER monoball camber plates * 9" front wheels, 11" rears, with Kumhos * 315/35-17 rear tires, 245/45-16 fronts * 930 brakes with Pagid Orange pads * front brake cooling with A-arm scoops and rotor ducts & blockoffs * titanium heat shields in front, custom carbon fiber shields in rear Body * fiberglass 935 doors, pinned for quick release * plastic exterior door handles * manual 993 mirrors * carbon fiber banana wing * have original wing element * carbon-fiber reflector delete panel * carbon fiber RS heater tube * 911R taillights * a full carbon-fiber tail of the exact same style is being made * lots of work undertaken to lighten the car * carbon fiber roof (7.5lbs) * flush-mount lexan windows * fiberglass hood * fiberglass 965 front bumper, with Dzus fasteners * fiberglass rear bumper * carbon fiber front fenders (1 mounted, one not) Extras that could be worked into a deal * 993 TT Big Red front brakes * extra 930 front rotors & pads * extra fiberglass hardtop & OE glass. * misc random track supplies * C2 motorized engine lid * OE fiberglass targa top * fiberglass dash

Thanks |

The spare C2 lid has the stock hinges; it hasn't yet ever been mounted on a pre-C2 car.

Still need to get rid of this; dragged home another project last weekend and I need some elbow room.
I got it started today, and it runs great, but one of the fuel lines is leaking near the tank. ![]()

Yup - '62 Type 3 Ghia; one of the earliest known to exist.
