F/S 959 Service Manual

EBay doesn't deserve this, so here it is. One English language manual for the, arguably, most technologically advanced automobile ever presented for sale by anyone - the 959. The book is in excellent condition with clean pages throughout, and the 4-ring binder cover is excellent as well. Selected random photos show condition of typical pages; no fingerprints (not even greasy ones) and binder/page holes are in good condition. This manual is located in Bakersfield, CA, and I will ship to just about anywhere; but shipping costs cannot be quoted until a sale, and sale location, are known. Price for the manual is $1800 + shipping. (Free shipping to anywhere inside the 48 states). Payment by PayPal. If the asking price is way out of line I'd love to hear your comments; now that 959s are bringing serious collector money maybe my price is OK. We will see.

BTW; the thickness of the text measures about 1 3/8", each page is printed on both sides except at the end of a topic/section.

Here are a few teaser pages for your enjoyment...

KT, you should buy this as a gift for Chris.

I hear bleeding the clutch is a ***** on one of those, is that covered in this manual?

Paul

In the interest of full disclosure, this manual seems to be typical for Porsche's book keeping methods of the late '80s! For example (see picture below), Section 30 lists "Clutch, Controls," but is actually "Manual Gearbox" and only covers General Data and Tightening Torques.

Section 31 is blank, Section 32 is for an "Automatic + Torque Converter", and there is no text.

Section 33 is blank. Section 34 is weird, and has two pages for tools, but then pages 34-003 to 34-011 are blank, but labeled "Disassembling and Assembling Manual Gearbox." Then, on page 34-012, instructions for disassembly begins. Perhaps the factory reasoned that the blank pages would have been redundant from the regular model G 50, so didn't bother with it. Instructions continue through page 34-018.

Section 35 states "Manual Transmission - Gears, Shafts." No text exists for this section, again, perhaps because it would only repeat info in the G 50 repair manual.

Section 36 is blank. Sections 37 & 38 are for an "Automatic," so there is no text for that.

Section 39 is listed as "Differential - Final Drive," but launches into a discussion called "Drive Control." Drive Control pages 39-001 to 39-013 cover a system description, program selection, operation, hydraulic system, faults, malfunction and components. Then pages 39-101 to 39-104 show how to remove and install the front axle final drive. Page 39-105 lists torque specs for front axle final drive, but pages 39-106 to 39-110 are left blank.

Pages 39-111 to 39-130 offer detailed instructions on how to repair the FRONT Axle Final Drive, including Adjusting Drive Pinion and Ring Gear.

Pages 39-201 to 39-204 are blank, followed by pages 39-205 to 39-216, which offer details on adjustment of the REAR axle Drive Pinion and Ring Gear.

Pages 39-301 to 39-304 discuss R&I of Function Control Unit (FCU), Output Control Unit (OCU) and Something called a Double Pressure Actuator (DPA).

Finally, pages 39-401 to 39-423 discuss "Diagnosis - Drive Control." I started reading "Bleeding the Hydraulic System" when my eyes glazed over! NO SPECIFIC MENTION OF BLEEDING THE CLUTCH WAS OFFERED - same procedure as the G 50 Carrera?
