Yep, low postcount can be a red flag.
Older, not recent, pictures is another...
Maybe you know other forum-members that can confirm you are legit?

OP- not sure why you're getting the runaround. I'd just put it on ebay and let the top bidder get it. It's a rare, valuable piece.

What you guys need is a neutral party. Send the speedo to me, I will inspect it and test it extensively. Write up a complete report, take photos and maybe a video. Then all parties can decide the best way forward. I even have a fake BTR for testing.

Paypal is a good way to do transactions. If the buyer uses their card to make the Paypal payment, then the buyer is also protected through their card issuer.

There are lots of people who are flat out every day running their businesses who read a lot of posts but who don't join the forum or post all the time so they have low post counts. That is a measure of how much free time they have, not their credibility.

I have a low post count on Pelican too. I've been involved in club events since the early 1990's, and have been around long enough to remember when there were no forums ... everyone in the Porsche community around the world kept in touch via the Rennlist email lists - which were exactly that - there was a 911 list, a racing list etc - you sent an email to the list address and then the Rennlist system sent a copy of that email to all the list subscribers - either as they were posted or as a daily digest.

Not sure why the seller is getting the run around here... Especially the ridiculous sending it to an unknown buyer sans payment terms above.

Seller will take PayPal and PayPal has buyer protection. Not sure what more some of you folks want - maybe you can require him to hand deliver it as well

F paypal... i bought a set of wheels off ebay, they didnt show up and they refunded me $7 through arbitration...
