912E solid discs to vented

Can the 912 E solid front rotors be changed to vented with out replacing the entire strut? is it as simple as new bearings and vented discs?
TIA,
Mike D.

Think you may need to change the calipers to later SC ones, I think they're basically the same type but with a big spacer between the two halves of the caliper.

Vented disks are thicker so won't fit between your standard calipers and won't leave enough room to refit the pads.

You don't have to change the struts.

I'm sure someone else can confirm this:)

Do 912E struts have 3 1/2 inch bolt spacing?

Yes, and the hubs have the same part # as 911 so i'm going to mount vented rotors and put it all back together with 944 turbo calipers, which have been modified to the 3.5" spacing.
