Ignition miss
I have a 66 that has a new key assembly and a new starter but every once in awhile it will not turn over and I have to bump or go to rear and "hot wire it" has anyone had this issue and do you think it is a faulty wire?

when these cars get old. Sometimes you need a relay to give the juice a boost.

OK that would make sense. So are you just running a wire from the batery to the relay then from the relay to the start and using the key switch to trigger it?

The situation is usually worst when the car/engine is hot. Before adding a relay (which I eventually did, back in 1971), make sure the connections are all clean: battery, starter, ground strap, ignition switch.

I have gone through the conections I fear the wire's are just tired. But am not sure about trying to pull new ones. I tried the above links for how the relay is used but they come up dead.
