912 E clutch

Will a 225mm clutchdisc fit in 912E? As I bought one from e-bay.... but I think the original is 215mm? What is the correct transmission mount? Ordered pair from our host , did not fit.Was too low , original center metal tube was 0.5 inch longer. What is that plastic black cylindrical item attached to top right corner of engine bay , behind air filter?

Hello

You have then to swap to the suiting 228mm Pressureplate and the 228mm flywheel ( used in the late type 4 buses ).

You also can lathe out the conflicting 10mm in the diameter but you only have the rised surfacelevel for the 215mm disc and the 215 pressureplate as well so the additional diameter will not gain surface.

AFIR you will lose surface as the iner carrierplate is also a bit larger in diameter compared to the normal 215mm unit.

Not sure on the mounts have to look at the factory parts catalouge for that. AFIR all 68on 911/912 have the same tranymount size.

On that canister i guess carbon or other smog relatet stuff

Sad , as it was claimed TO FIT 912E.... and was sold (and still is) by a porsche parts specialist. And I bought it cause it was cheap , and they stated on their sales ad for 912E. Have to ask them again.

The transmission mount is higher , as I tried it.Took out the old one , fitted new one , could not tighten. As bolt was too long with the new mount.Run out of thread.

I have to check where this canister pipes go to.... I also thought it must be somekind of smog equipment.

Thanks,

The 228mm pieces are not interchangeable with the 912E, the starter ring gear is different.

The conclusion? Will this 225 disc go or not? This company BORN2B FAST sells it on e-bay , claims it WILL FIT ?

Hello

If they say it fit then go for it. Better ask if the clutch will not only fit but also work good. And if it will not fit then nail them..........
