Vellios sideshifter tech info
Happy new year, everyone. I have a 914/6 transmission, with the Vellios side shifter, that I am rebuilding. I haven't worked with the Vellios kit before, does not look at all complicated. But I'm curious as to whether anyone might have any instructions or specs on setting it up. Thanks in advance!

The vellios kit is for a 915 trans to turn it into a side shifter for 914 use. It’s not for a real 914-6 trans.

Mark, thank you for the clarification. Would you have the set-up info for Vellios? Cheers,

No. I never used one and it’s been out of production for probably 10 years. There are a couple guys on 914world with them so it would be good to ask there.

Something to consider is the strength of the transmission. When I was racing my vintage 914-6 with the 901 transmission it was refreshed yearly with new bearings and such. Another vintage 914-6 racer I raced with had a 915 transmission and it did not need to be opened except every two years. But the 915 parts back then (15 years ago) were more expensive so...….
