Just added a 914 to my collection
The plan is to build a 2,7 liter type 4 engine
Need some tips on brake and chassis updates

Porterfeld racing pads are a great up grade. they make the stock brakes really bite the rotor, can lock them up easy. for chassis upgrades, the polybronze (elephant racing) bushings and monoball's are a great upgrade for handling, stiff rear springs, fat front sway bar, are all good upgrades, low profile tires (I run 195 50 tires) are great. Interesting that rear sway bars are many times are NOT recommended, I have removed two of them and found the handling great improved with only a front sway bar
you can add a chassis stiffening kit although I have found I have not needed it yet. Of course you can go with 911 style five lug suspension and bigger 911 brakes with big vented rotors, all depends on how much $$$ to spend. I have found the Porterfeld racing pads (not street pads) are more than good enough for street use, they are noisy and dusty, (the street version is cleaner and not noisy but not as effective). if you race or autocross, then larger brakes should be considered, as with stock rotors no matter how big a caliper, or good a racing type pad you have, the rotor will heat up with repeated braking. for street use not an issue, for racing where you use the brakes a lot, heat will start to build up and larger vented rotors will loose that heat much better.

got any photos of your new car????? How do you intend to use it, street or race? what kind of 2.7 engine to you intend to put in? I hear the TypeIV motor is much more supported in Europe than here in America, with different companies offering different go fast items than in America. I would like to see how your doing it.

have fun!!!!!!!
