No electrical power

Car was running fine for a while, all of a sudden all the lights die. I have no power to anything. Headlights wont go up or down, no dash lights, no starter, etc...

This happened randomly one day when i went to start the car. I got power to randomly come back one for a few seconds, headlights closed and the dash lights came on for a few seconds but then it shut off again and hasn't come back on since.

I have already checked the battery for proper voltage, checked all fuses, checked all relays. I am now going to poke around the relay board to see if it has power and also check the ignition switch. If anybody has any ideas of what could be wrong or what to check that would be great, Thanks.

Check the ground strap. They get really corroded and my look ok. Take it off and we’re brush real good and try again.
Could be something else but I’d try this first.
Good luck

thanks for the help. I had put a brand new ground strap a while ago but it turns out the bolt holding the ground strap to the frame has corroded. Gonna clean it up and hopefully solves all the problems

Also check the battery connections. The smaller wires that attach to the battery (+) clamp carry power to all of the car except the starter.

When the car loses power, does the interior light still work? That gets power that bypasses the ignition switch, and if it goes out then that rules out your ignition switch.
