Throttle cable to butterfly linkage
Thanks in advance... Is the pin that fits in the top of the butterfly housing that holds the throttle cable, the same as on the flapper box that holds that cable for heat control?

I haven't compared them directly. Let's look up the part numbers...
Throttle barrel nut: 111 129 921 Bolt: N 010 205 6 (M5x10) Heat exchanger barrel nut: 311 129 777 Bolt: N 010 205 6 (M5x10) They have different part numbers; the throttle one is from a Bug and the heat exchanger one is from a Type III. They use the same bolt to capture the ferule on the end of the cable, though. So it appears they are different, but not very different. I can't really say if they are interchangeable or not. Sorry not to be more definite. --DD

Thanks Dave! I was looking in PET and found the Throttle p/n but didn't see anything for the heat exchanger. Thanks for finding that. I did try the h/e barrel nut and it seems identical for size but I didn't try the end of the throttle cable in it. I'll check it tomorrow. The proverbial $2 dollar part holding me up from starting this baby for the first time in 5 or 6 years (and after a full engine rebuild, not to mention rust repair structurally)!!
Thanks for your help. ps, while I'm at it, can you tell me if PP has access to Sealing ring for heat exchanger p/n 021 256 251 A? It's a rectangle gasket for the flapper to h/e.

Sorry, I am not tied into the sales end of things. I suggest searching the part number in the search box up above, or just calling and asking.

Hi John,
Ha! Impeccable timing! I think today is the day I fire up. Been doing the brake system rebuild and should have last item today as well. I need to just install the oil breather lines to the air cleaner etc and make sure the vacuum system is as it should be for the fuel injection to work properly. I’ll let you know! Tony

Hi John. Got it fired up yesterday!! Ran a high idle but not all vacuum lines are connected yet. Sounds great though!! Still lots to do but now I know the motor rebuild went well.
