914 steering

Hi Is the steering on the 914-6 heavier than on the four cylinder cars?

mepstein 09-19-2023 09:16 AM

Shouldn’t be. It’s almost identical. Check alignment, tire pressure, etc.

no only with flares and wider wheels and tires does the steering feel heavier

Hi I'm running with 15"x6" Fuchs wheels fitted with 195/60 Falkens and Tyre pressures 26psi front 29psi rear and no bodywork mods.

Stock steering wheel or the smaller momo 350 mm type ? The smaller wheel is harder to turn

dr914 09-28-2023 12:35 PM

and if the front end is lowered!

I would add a few pounds fo tire pressure all around. Mark

From what I've heard, the steering on the 914-6 is generally considered to be a bit heavier compared to the four-cylinder models. The 914-6 had a larger and heavier engine, which could contribute to the difference in steering feel. However, it's always best to test drive both models if possible to get a better sense of the steering differences
