long wheel studs - why
Some race cars run the 100mm studs. Aside from making it easier to do fast wheel changes, is there a reason for the super long studs?

Long wheel studs actually make the wheel change a bit more cumbersome. The longer wheel studs allow the use of wheel spacers that allow the track to be increase as well as the use of wider wheel/tire combinations.

Safety....the idea is that one can see that the threads are fully engaged with the nut.
also, if the nut's are loose, you'd have a few extra seconds to pull off the road/track before the wheel came off.

They are actually to mount "dual-eezs" when necessary.

depending on the kind of stud they are used for quick tire changes. The ones made specifically for that are just a shaft at teh end and the threads start about half an inch from the end. When using an impact gun you can go much faster.

Although I might add that I have one problem.. I dont have any lug nuts that fit.. Where can I get them? All I have holding them on right now are 2 lock lugs.

Just pick up some 911 lug nuts. Steel ones, they're open-ended. The closed-ended alloy ones obviously won't work.
