molded plastic dash cover question

I plan on installing a molded plastic dash cap on my cracked dash; Do they go all the way up to the windshield.defroster vents, or do they end half-way where it switches to vinyl cloth? I have the windshield out now after a repaint and the vinyl is also shot, so if the dash cap would cover the vinyl area I wouldn't bother fixing that. thanks. wd

The cap I have goes over the frontal area or the rolled edge and continues over the cowel of the instrument housing. It goes as far as the back end of the cowel and down the back of the rolled edge to the soft material that runs up to the defrosters. Mine actually snapped into place. A small amout of velcro was used to keep the back edge at the base of the cowel down flat. It fits like a glove!

if pelican doesn't have them, tweeks does. i got mine from them before i found pelican parts. i think i paid about 75.00 for it. it fit really good. nobody can tell it's on, even most 914er's i've met don't even notice them.

I got mine off Ebay for $25 or $35 (can't remember which) and shipping was next to nothing as these caps weigh less than a pound, they're just long.

24flys is right and there are a few companies that make them. Do a search on Google or Yahoo for one and see what comes up.

24flys... your name is, well, intriguing would you explain?
