Accelerator pedal issue

Hello all,

New 914 owner here. I'm running into an issue where the accelerator push rod ball keeps slipping out of the socket in the back of the pedal. Especially when I'm having the most fun with the car.

I figured that it was either the ball that's worn or the socket and took the pedal off to find this. I can't find any part for a 914, 911 or similar that looks like this. Must be a custom DIY part? Has anyone seen anything like this? Looks like the plastic was milled out.

Buy a standard gas pedal for a 914 and it will solve your problem. That is an aftermarket pedal that someone adapted, poorly, as a “dress-up”. Are the other pedals also aluminum?
