Side window clamp glue?

Has anyone had a side window come unstuck from the cradle it sits in at the bottom. My passenger's side window came unglued and I went to the glass shop to get some glue and they said they used to reglue them with a warranty but they've had so many come back they don't warranty it anymore. Then they recommended trying to get a new one. Can you even get a new window with the bottom part clamped on? I'm sure I could find a used one but mine was used so why would I get another one to have it come unglued? Anyone try to reglue this piece??? If so what did you use?

Alex

early or late glass? if you clean the channel and the glass well and a bead of silicon should do the trick. kevin

i used silicon adhesive on an early window. it's held for about a year or so now.

By the way, clear silicone sealant is what the glass companies use to bond the metal channel to the top of frameless glass shower doors, so if it can hold a big heavy sheet of glass from the top it should hold a side glass from the bottom.
