Question Clutch pedal difficulty

Occasionally my clutch pedal feels like it is rubbing against something when I press it down. Almost feels like it is rubbing against a cable. Sometimes it makes it difficult to press down. Any ideas? It's not a consistent thing.

TIA

Check the cable pully?
I know the pully that the cable goes around on the transaxle gets gummed up and doesn't turn well. Thats where my cable always breaks. I've never caught it before it broke, but it seems like it should do exactly what you described when it is hanging up.

Another thing. Take a look at the pedal board under the carpet. I could be delaminating and hanging up on the plywood.
Just a thought.
Mine was doing that. Someone had bent the clutch pedal.

If you have a teflon lined cable, the teflon can melt and grab the inner cable and then soft of fall apart and you will get a really great rubbing feel. I had this happen to the race car and I could feel it in the pedal very much. If you check the pivot wheel and it is soft or deforming then I'd recommend getting one of Patrick's racing ones that can handle 500 degree heat and not deform. Good luck

I finally got to this little problem when I got to fixing the speedo cable. I lubed the pulley and also repositioned the floor board a little and there is currently no rub. I'll see how long it lasts. Thanks for all the tips. Now I have a better idea of things to check out regarding that issue.
