I was thinking about your problem. The symptoms are not good.
Keep in mind, The Porsche/Vw Shed does have a working spare 901... The only thing I can think of that would not be Trans related is a broken pressure plate, stuck in the pedal down position, you would howwever notice this right away and for the life of me can not phisically see how that could happen...I still vote for shiftig linkage problem... If you find that the trans is bad and want to try the Brandenburg Spares Shed call my cellular number and if you can't reach me next week...Hint the shed is not locked ... it would be self-serve...

don't forget the CV bolt tool (triple square) and since you put up the post, the $9 torque wrench

The tranny bolts on the back tranny ear pieces to tranny mount are long 12mm fine thread bolts with 12mm fine thread nuts. Some were nylon locking nuts with a 19mm hex. If not self locking, then be sure to use lock washers. Also there is a 12mm thick washer.
Most 8mm nuts and bolts have a 13mm hex and are standard thread. Last edited by Jim Smolka; 08-02-2003 at 04:29 AM.. |

along these same lines, what is normal configuration used to mount a 6 to the trans, especially on the top 2. are they studs or bolts. the six motor doesn't have a space for nuts on the motor side.

On a 911 6 cyl motor, typically there are studs that come out of the motor that mate to the tranny. These typically are 10mm studs with standard pitch. It may be necessary to procure the studs based on which gear box and engine is used.
