Fuel Pump

My fuel pump seems to be going bad. I recently moved the fuel pump to the front & I used everything (including the pump) from a donor '76 car.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about the fuel pump since it was sitting in the trunk of a 914 that I found in a wrecking yard. (Did I mention that I stripped the car clean & solved all my problems in one weekend! Yea! new mirrors, carpet, sound pad, etc...)

Anyway, I really don't want to spend the $200 for a new pump & I noticed that the 924's & 944's & VW Buses have similar looking fuel pumps - could I just use one of those since I can pick one up for around $10?

Just wondering - I promise to fix it right someday.

Also, for the record - I already changed my filter, tank screen, & injectors.

Thanks............................................ .Vern

If you can work out the mounting issues, get the right-sized fuel lines to and from it, and get the electrical connectors hooked up correctly, sure!

There is no reason you can't use one that is listed for a VW Bus, but you won't get one for $10. I put one in my '73 2.0L and it cost me $90 for a rebuilt unit. It works great. My son's '75 Bus needs a new pump and I just bought a new MSD pump from Summit Racing for a little less. We'll see how it works out.
