I'm back on the road.... sorta

well after alot of welding and some custom fabbed up stuff I got the gas tank back in and got my car runnin again. Runs great for sittin for so long and it didn't hardly smoke or anything. Problem was that my chrome plated lug bolts seem to be slick, and when taking my test drive I felt a "thud thud thud" so I pulled over real quick and I found that I had my left rear almost fall off. There was only one bolt left partially in. I found all the lug bolts, but one was kinda messed up on the threads, and one of the threads on the hub's kinda messed up. I'm gonna get a tap and try to fix it tomorrow and maybe get another few lug bolts and send em off to get plated. As for the rest of the car, nothin else got messed up so that's all good. I'll get another couple bolts and get em plated so I'll have a couple spares. I'll lock tite everything tomorrow too. But it was a real nice drive for the 5 min it was on the road. I'll get some pics when I get done wet sanding and buffing.

does this mean you painted the whole car? what color? congrats. I am looking forward to seeing the pics

ya I didn't take out the motor or the electricals, but mostly everything else was out, and now I'm tryin to figure out where it all went... It's black with polished pedrinis and painted bumpers and it'll have painted trim pretty soon too. Bumpers and trim are just too beat up to leave alone.

cleaned up the threads with a tap and the hub's all good. Now I just gotta get a new bolt and get it chromed and then sand blast all of em to get the chrome off the threads.
