Red face Weltmeister Oil Pressure Booster Kit

Hi All,
I recently purchased a Weltmeister Oil Pressure Booster Kit for our '73 2.0 914-4. Color me stupid - but I don't see the relief valve on the side of the case. The one on the bottom is obvious. The engine is in the car, sooo, what do I need to remove to gain access. Thanks,
Gary

It's not there on all 914 engines. Look on the driver's side of the case, somewhere in amid the lifter bores (where the pushrod tubes go).

Ok... thanks. When did this configuration change? Should I be able to narrow this down to engine s/n? What if I just replace the larger piston on the bottom? Will I see a pres. inc?
Thanks Again, Gary

I'm not sure when it happened. I've heard "some time in 73", but I can't back that up with any solid info.

You'll probably see some kind of pressure increase just replacing the bypass piston.

Thanks Dave. Couldn't have guessed. I was starting to question my eyesight...hehehe. My porsche shop manual shows two valves, so if the bible says it's there - it's there. DOOOhhhh, then it's not. Now what do I do with this "extra" valve...:-)

Is there a less expensive kit with just the one valve for the later engines? Seems stupid to throw one away, unless they're identical, in which case you could have a spare or sell it to another later engine owner.
