Did you grease them with Disk brake grease before you put it together? Steve

I know there is some grease especially made for those bushings, will disc brake lube work just as well? I'm doing my sway bar bushings but have not reached the re-insatll part yet.

Hi Sabin:
Your muffler is obviously too quiet.
When I bought my aftermarket sway bar bushings they came with a really sticky thick grease that would probably solve your problem. Check with the local speed shops. I installed grease zerks on my suspension bushings. Can't hear the suspension over the motor anyway. Can't hear the stereo either...
PS - my car is finally done! Starting the lotus now.

Check at your local boating stores. There is some marine-grade grease that is really awful nasty sticky stuff. And seems to be just about the right thing for squeaky plastic bushings.

To cure the squeaking temporarily, you can take the suspension apart and put the nasty grease on them, then put it all back together. You might take the time to very carefully fit them (i.e., sand them to fit) while you've got them apart. (JP has been through this process.) Be prepared to re-do the whole process every couple of years, though.

You can also take them off and cut a groove on the surface that sees the movement. Then put a Zerk fittingthat connects to that groove. That way you can use a grease gun and re-lube them periodically.

Or you can replace the A-arms and semi-trailing arms to get new factory rubber bushings. (Bring money--lots of it!)

Or you can go with the solid bronze bushings that have the grease groove and Zerk fitting already.

Or you can go with a needle-bearing setup. I've heard from some people who really, really like them!
