another heating question
the fresh air blower... is that the one that acts as a little "extra boost" for the air coming from the engine? so if i set the fresh air to "off" so it were only sucking air from the engine compartment, i could put my heater core in my kickpanels or right above there, and it would draw hot air from there?

I think it takes air from outside, the grill by the windshield and you can either get all outside or mix with heat from the engine compt?

The cowl mounted fan is not the answer. Use your rear mounted radiator, and the rocker mounted heater ducts. Do you have the rear mounted blower fan laying around someplace?

no, i don't even know what the rear mounted blower looks like. I don't know that the radiator idea is all that good... the temperature isn't regulated there, as with the heater core it is generally somewhere between 200 to 212 degrees F. (that's where the radiator fan kicks on) the radiator might not get any heat if the engine is trying to keep itself warm enough to run by not letting any hot water go through to the radiator, and the heater core bypasses the radiator so the temperature is that of the engine.

I think someone mentioned an aftermarket heater core with fan. Check the other resent posts on this subject. With a little fabrication you'll have good heat. Just MHO but Find a way to use the stock rocker ducts to move the hot air in to the car. The stock heater is excellent in design and function.

There is a picture of the heater fan/blower in the Haynes manual. It mounts to the frame on the drivers side just under the relay panel. You should see a little bracket which is curved to fit the motor of the fab. It has a single outlet with flex hose that goes to a "Y' fitting and then flex hose to each side of the engine. You should see a piece of metal ducting sticking up through the engine sheetmetal on each side and this feeds to the headers, etc, etc, etc. The lever mounted on the tunnel does two things, pulls cables that open the flappers to let air in and grounds the electrical conn for the fan to blow hot air into the interior. Good luck.
