One fo the 914 guys in Europe, who was on this board, salvaged the early 911 hand brake system on a 914. Do a search for this.

The Renegade Hybrids e-brake was really cool, and if you are running a big brake set up it already has the .5" spacer on it.

John Rogers, on this board, used a Wilwood "spot caliper". Check in the Tech Articles section of this website; there's a pic in one of the two "914 racing" articles that he has written for us.

He also posts on this board and may comment...

Yes, I have done it. I have early 911 hand brake in my 914. Search pics from 914Club. If you dont find them, let me know and I can send them here.

I just did the 911 parking brake. It was a piece of cake. There are good pix (search Wilco), but I can post some of mine, too. I just need someone to tell me how -- I haven't been able to figure it out.

Anyway, the 911 parking brake works very well, is easy to do with only minor mods. The only tricky part is the cable. It needs to be fabricated to work.

Thank you all(including the gentelman from Finland).....robert.

Here's how I did mine.

Step 1: new bearings; grind off shield tabs and corners; chanel for brake cable

Step 2: 911 unit mounted

Step 3: attach cable (this is a temporary set up until I can get a custom cable fabricated). Not pretty, but it works.
