Has something ever happend to you where you feel like a giagantic weight has been lifted off your shoulders and you can actually see some light?
Question is for 914 relations or anything else non-teener related.

Yeah, when I was changing out some 911 cam chain tensioners and the vise grips popped off the chain. Bang!! Don't ever hit the key after that. Oh no now I have to time the cams. I went down to harbor feight bougt some a dial gauge. Checked the cam timing and Ahhhh the timing did not jump. Put all back together. one more turn on crank by hand. Hit the key and Ahhhh. purrrrrrr. One less thing to worry about. Thanks Mark

You betcha, Toast.
On the day my daughter was born I had a moment of total clarity.........I had a job I hated and when I looked at that beautiful little girl I realized that things had to change. So I called my boss and said, "We had a baby girl......oh, and I quit". Now I run my own company and life is wonderful.

Con-gradulations, Toasty. To play Ghandi for a minute, let me ask you to try to capture that feeling and replay it in your mind when a new challenge arises. My mantra is "what, me worry?", also from a famous spiritualist. Really, I am sorry for people that let themselves get run over by life. We ain't here for long anyway, and the "914 period" of our lives is even shorter. I'm convinced that if it weren't for people, the earth would be a great place. Too many of 'em are just mopin' around. Well, BS I say. Get out of my way if your not here for fun! This philosophy comes from a period many years ago when I got wailed by an 18 wheeler (not in a 914 but a BMW 3 series). After I came out of the coma, it took several years to get back (most of my) cognative and motor skills. But what a lesson! Now that I have brain function again, I keep it hoppin' with happiness. Happy at the races, or happy at the dentist. Happy all the time. It pisses my wife off, but thats OK. It's all good. Maybe it is self-delusion, but it's the best kind!

Yeah, c'mon Toasty, let us in. Or are you just being profound, and making us reflect a little on some of the good things in our lives?

OK, OK, damit......
Ted's parents finally came to pick up his stuff. There has been no communication between us. Now that that situation is over; I can move out and move on. I really feel like my chains have been released and the weight lifted. That is why I originally started this post, because I felt lightweight and free. So there ya go. I know, not Teener related. But it was exciting enought for me to make a new thread about.

Damn.....now my revelation is embarrassingly miniscule compared to Toast (and SGB). I feel like a turd. I....errrrr....I was just kidding....yea, just kidding. Ummmm, I was just trying to get Toast to 'fess up to what she had experienced. And, by God, It worked!!!
Wink.......I'm happy for you M

Hey everybody-
there are no miniscule events. For the weaver, every thread is individual, but to the outside observer, the threads become a whole piece. If you remove any thread, the whole tapestry eventually unravals, and you can't remove any one piece of your existance either ( I really couldn't come up with an automotive-type parable). Potter, Toast, Red-Beard, Miles, Scooter, Alfred, MXMark, I say CON-GRADULATIONS to every one of you for being here (and the trip that got you here). I hope you consider it a victory, because it is. So tomorrow, remember to celebrate, because by then it will be today, and another victory. Why. I think I'lll start celebrating tomorrow's victory right now! I think Becks is one of the best beers available here. Anyone agree? |

SGB
Beck's is good, but my choice is Heineken. And I'd really, really, really, love to have an extrememely high number of them with you, but not today. I'm not ruling out tomorrow, but not today. And that, Toast, was the weight lifted from my shoulders some years ago. SGB is right, it all goes into making up the fabric of who and what we are. Maybe I'm reading too much into your recent epiphany, but it sounded like what was heavy was what was not there; the communication. That void must have felt terrible, and the anticipation of Ted's parents arrival over all this time.... Tough thing to go through. Miles, don't you ever sleep? Ed |
