It's Alive!!!!!
Yippeee!!!!
I made all the electrical connections today, hooked up all the hoses, got in the seat and turned the key. Nice cranking sound, no strange noises,....but no starting either. Spent an hour troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that the timing must be way off. Turned the distributor gear180 deg, put everything back in its place and- voila! Instant fire. Only drove around the block a couple times after letting the engine run for a while. No oil leaks, a vacuum leak somewhere (hissing sound, high idle) and an exhaust leak somewhere. Too late and too dark to bother with it today. This is were I was months ago: A happy Neal |

Congrats on your progress. Looks like your teener had a bad hangover the day after that pic was taken. Based on the beer on the trunk lid and the explosion of Spew
.....I say your car has a drinking problem.

That will depend on getting all the remaining issues worked out and get a couple hundred miles on the car first. I would hate to hitchhike back.
Found and fixed the vacuum. Now I can't drive 'cause it snowed 5 inches last night. Neal Quote:

From my garage it is either up-hill or down-hill.....very steep. I would be competing with the kids sliding on the street. I think, I wait a day. Neal |
