Why doesn't Pelican sell KB and JE aftermarket pistons and cylinder sets?
I understand that both of these are good brands so why doesn't Pelican sell them alongside the OEM pistons and cylinders especially when the OEM p/cs for the 1.7 and 1.8L motors are NLA?

Pelican Parts is an authorized distributor of LN Engineering's Nickies P/C kits. Information on all our products will soon be available on Pelican's site and can also be seen at http://www.LNengineering.com. In the meantime, anyone interested can contact Eugene by caling P.P. directly.

KB's have no warranty. That could be one reason. JE sells direct, so there might not be much markup. That could be the other reason. And both have to be fit to a clyinder or the clyinder fit to them. That is probably the real reason.

Hardly any mark up, and most of the cylinders are junk unless they are rebored stockers. JE doesn't sell cylinders but that make us some bad ass pistons right to spec!

We're in the process of getting JE's and Nickies into the catalog. Eugene (1-888-280-7799x260) can help anyone out in the meantime who wants more information on these products.
I'm not personally familiar with KB? -Wayne

Keith Black Hypereutectic Pistons. Jake Raby recently said about them "In a street engine KBs are better than JE!". I like them because they are considerably less expensive than OEM or JE forged pistons.

For a streeter the KBs are better! Less oil consumption and run quieter.

Then they will be perfect for the 2056 I'm going to build and I get to save a few bucks.

From my reading, hypereutectic cast pistons are great for street applications. Better than forged, unless the extra strength of the forged parts are required. (E.g., tons of power or forced induction.)
