Saw a Florida Bumble Bee this morning
While taking my son to school this morning, as I was pulling out of McDonald's, I saw a Bumble Bee LE driven by what I think was a girl. I could not catch up before she got on the interstate but I got a glimpse of a tag. It was a Florida vanity plate, "74 ????". It looked to be a decent driver, good paint and wheels. I don't recall if it had painted Mahles.
I live in Milton, in Northwest Florida, next door to Pensacola. For those familar with the area, she was headed south on Avalon Blvd. at the I-10 ramp. She was headed toward Pensacola as if on the way to work. It is RARE to see a 914 being driven around here, let alone an LE. This is probably the fourth 914 I have seen on the road in the past six years. I am at the same spot every weekday and will try to get more information. If the owner visits this board, please let us know who you are. I know some of you guys are nuts for this car and have a registry of LE 914's. Do you have this one on your list? |

Thanks for the heads up on this car. If you see it again or can find it, please let me know! Take a photo! Stop the owner and chat! Get contact info!
Florida is home to two of the finest LE cars anywhere. A Creamsicle in Tampa and a Bumblebee on Sanibel Island. Are either of these near your location...maybe the Sanibel Island car? The 914 LE Registry website is at the link below in my signature. |

Sanibel is very far south of Pensacola. South of Tampa bay.

Karl got it right. Pensacola is probably 500 miles from Sanibel Island. Comparable to San Diego and San Francisco I suppose.
I'll try to spot the car again and see if I can talk to the owner. I'll post any information I get. |

Way to go Otto and Steve! More photos please..as it is completed. Are you keeping it or will it be for sale?
This car that Ottos is restoring promises to be the finest restored 914 Limited Edition Bumblebee in existence. Jeff
