Question on Heads - 2.0 vs. 1.8

Is it possible to use 2.0 heads on a stock 1.8 motor?

If it is possible, are there any modifications that will need to be done in order to use them (besides changing the engine tin and manifold pipes)?

Just wondering...........................Vern

That's pretty much it. They fit directly on; you will probably want to drill your 1.8 manifolds for the 2.0 bolt pattern--the 2.0 intake runner pipes may not be long enough to get to the plenum. Though you might be able to make up the difference with the "manifold boots", the large diameter hoses between the manifold and the runners.

I don't know how "correct" it will run. The mixture may (or may not) be off at some parts of the RPM/load range.

I really wanted to know about the 2.0 heads because I need to replace or fix one of my 1.8 heads. I bought a set on E-Bay, only to find that they were 1.8 bus heads with small valves. So, I'm slowly learning, the hard way.

I think I may just have my heads rebuilt.
