Cross your fingers - Blond restarts today!
Yep, I figured out the MSD wiring (next time I label everything!).
Today: Install the exhaust and headers, fill fuel tank, connect up the tranny shift rod, connect the clutch, install the battery. Oh yeah, fill it with oil! Should be ready to go! James

Ran out of time...Mother's Day dinner....
Well, I know I got the ignition set up right cause it back fired a few times. It is not timed right, so that is the final step, tomorrow night... so close, so close I can taste it...

I know that wonderful feeling
3 weeks ago I installed a 2.0 in Punkin that had set in a broken car for 7 years. Very tentative whilst turning the key. Nut'n happend tho 'cept it turned over & over &.....Had no spark. Wires on the coil were backwards! I switched 'm & then it started coughing WOO-HOO.... after it fianally started & began running, the longer it ran the smoother it got. Guess I'd have trouble waking up after a 7 year sleep! Good goin James ......b

Hey Mark,
Mine sat outside in its broken car the whole time. The throttle body was so corroded I had to take it off, spray it with PB Blaster & lightly thump on the butterfly to dislodge it. The Idle screw was total rust & was just barely able to get it free. I plan on replacing the body once I find a good candidate. I know of one that's been bored. So, yes... there's gotta be hope where a positive thought lurks .......b ![]() EDIT: I forgot to mention... was told to put 2 Tbls of Marvel Mystery oil in each spark plug hole & stir slowly! Turn it over by hand a few times. I tipped the engine different ways to spread out the Mystery & get it all covered! Maybe that's why it runs gud, eh?
