I take it you got the keyboard fixed,your last post didnt have quite so many double a's in it. Mine is not running yet. I have not even got all the parts yet for the engine. I got most of them this week but some of the key parts wont be here till Monday or Tuesday of next week. There is still a lot to do on the car though. I am trying to finish up some of the body work on it so I can primer the whole car one color. That is how it will stay till after the WCC. I got my brother in law coming over today to help out with the sheetmetal work for the ducting to and around the radiator. Tomorrow, I would like to get the suspension all back on so I can roll it around at least. Its is up on 4 jackstands right now still. The guy is coming in tongiht at 7 to pick up the yellow car so it will be gone. I have been driving it most of the week. They did a compression check and leakdown test on it over at Einmalig for me on Tuesday. It passed with flying colors. It should, I just went through the engine again when I found it had a blown headgasket. Funny things happen when you inadvertently put 2 head gaskets in one of the cylinders. It blows right out. Imagine that. I am not sure if I will get all the body work done on this car before the show, but I really want it to run. Just waiting for parts. Sean, any chance of you coming down when I am ready to install the engine? It will probably be next weekend. Let me know. It would be nice to have your help.

Are you going to run a stock fuel pump? I was told I had to run an electric pump. What should I do? I know the stock on is less money which is good at this point, but if the electric is a have to thing, then I will get one.

You have room to run the stock fuel pump if you use a electric water pump.

This might help to show why most can't run a stock fuel pump. As Bob stated, if you run a electric pump, it is not attached to engine and you can usually free up some space to allow mounting of mechanical pump.

It is good that your running a overflow tank but I prefer to run it as close to and near the same elevation as the expansion tank since vacuum is the only method of allowing water to transfer back into system.

The more I look at your radiator, the more I think your problem may be due to its horizontal position and use of only one fan. I've seen more converted cars with this design that did not work in hot climates than those that have had success. Not bashing you but just what I have observed the past few years.

no ego here. I dont like eteh liaad down rad either but . I paid 3 k as you see it in teh pics. I am building another one and I would not do it this way. there are, however, many things on this car that are unique anad I will replicATE on my ride. I dont think that is the issue though since other exotics do run a horizontal raad

There must be some kind of shroud that goes on top of the radiator that forces the fresh air from the intake thru the radiator. Looking at the pix's is that what the mounts at the front of the car are for?
I don't see any problems with it laying down as long as you have a air flow thru it.
On the meziere website there is a good article about cooling with a horizontal radiator. They use alot of them in gas powered rail dragsters.

Hey, I don't clean my headers! I could be accused of rubbing on the rest of the engine though : )

My comment on the laydown radiator was best explained by Bob. The lack of airflow (due to no shroud) is what may be hurting this setup. The fan(s) are designed to work at low speed......say less than 45 mph. The shroud comes into play and provides airflow through radiator at speeds above this. Oh well, just my opinion.

Sean, have you tried running mostly plain water? Not sure what mixture of anitfreeze to water your using but this trick has cured some overheating problems for others in the past. I would definitely go for the easy stuff first.

I'd like to see pics of the water pump in better lighting. It appears the inlet to pump is really reduced as compared to water hose size.

Is that the RH serpentine system, or did you build your own? Could you post a frontal view, if you have one?

PCV routed to the airhorn on the carb? PCV needs a vacuum source to evacuate the crankcase, and normally the breather is routed to the air cleaner/airhorn. Can you explain?
