clunk on right or left rear
I recently drove 700 miles from Juneau Alaska to Fairbanks Alaska. I had no problems with intermitent dirt roads(100 miles or so) or potholes or moose. But when I got to fairbanks I had a loud clunk on the right rear when I engaged first or second gear.. Upon checking, I discovered that the bolt on the right side of the engine bracket was working out, and there was a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the cast engine support and the bottom of the chassis...
sooo.. the moral of the story is, if your clunk'n, check your engine/trany bolts.. nobody wants to lose their engine out the bottom of the car... -Mr Bob |
